At the time of fascist occupation in 1941-1943 years Nazi shot dead nearly 40,000 Jews and 6,000 Krymchaks in Crimea.
On December, 18th, 1941 not far from Yalta in Zhuravlyovaya (Crane) Ravine, Germans killed more than 2,000 Yalta Jews.
Yalta was the first town in Crimea were in Soviet period was erected Jewish monument to Nazi victims. This sad place is located on the East side of modern Yalta downtown in Massandra superb area. You can find it easy, a hundred meters above the cargo port and just several meters from the main road from Yalta to Nikita Botanical Gardens. The new monument was constucted after the Soviet Union collapse.
