The
settlement Foros has received the name from the seventh miracle of World
- Alexandria beacon Foros. This resort place is created by the nature
for lonely rest. Foros is one of the oldest settlements in the Crimea and Greater Yalta Area.
There are state summer residences of known politicians, including a
summer residence «Dawn» of the president of the USSR M.Gorbachev (now - a
president residence of Ukraine) in Foros.
The palace of tea
producer Kuznetsov with magnificent park (it established in ХІХ of
century) is surprisingly beautiful. The garden has managed to the
businessman «so much, in how many there will be a sum hundred-ruble
credits if to send away them a surface of this garden».
In memory of
rescue of Emperor Alexander ІІІ and his family during wreck of a train
in 1892 the Church of Revival Hristova (designed by Kuznetsov) has been
built. In this church many known people got married.
The beacon on cape
Sarych was made like huge chess rook, the most southern point of
Crimea. Distance from it to cape Kerempe at Turkish coast is 142 miles.
This is the most minimal distance from the coast of Black sea to Turkey.
