 The jags of Ai-Petri resemble the teeth of a huge dragon (about 100 meters in height). This is an ancient coral reef, having risen from the sea bottom many millions yers ago. The Ai-Ptri Plateau is also noted for its karst cavities, the most famous of wich are Kaskadnaya pit, one of the Crimea`s deepest (about 400 meters), and Cave Tryokhglazka (of Three Eyes) equipped to receive sightseers.

On our way to Miskhor and Koreiz and further on to the cableway that takes tourists to the top of Mount Ay-Petri, we passed by a gallery of chic resort centres, some of which were old parks studded with palaces and villas.  The construction of the Miskhor-Ay-Petry Ropeway started at 1967 and were lasting for 20 years. Only on 31st of December 1987 the members of the state control engineering commission were the first passengers. The Ropeway is 2980 meters long from Miskhor to Ay-Petry peaks.  The upper district, the longest in Europe, without supporting columns, is unique, 1670 meters long and has an angle 46 degrees near the mountains.
